Both the prettiest and scariest time of the year is here (Or at least to me.) And with it all the coziest foods and slutti news!
I find I am all too good at committing to month-themed or seasonal newsletters. Perhaps itβs my rebel spirit - since birth, I was that child who would always do the opposite of what they were told. I am better now. Or, so I think. I am here writing this Fall newsletter after all!
But donβt be discouraged - I am in reality very happy to be writing this Fall newsletter because 1. it is no longer hot as hell in Italy - remember my mid-summer newsletter I wrote while my AC was broken? Not so fun. 2. I have some seriously exciting things to share!
And finally 3. Itβs pumpkin spice latte season, baby!
Kidding. Fall in Italy is MUCH better than that. Letβs go!
Italyβs secret spooky sh*t
Rome in October is like a mega mixed trick-or-treat bag - a few sunny late summer-like days tossed up with monsoon weekends and lightning-filled evenings. When the spirits arenβt on your side, there might also be some hail thrown in the mix as well.
So, essentially the moodiness of a hangry Italian man. Or, at least my father that is.
To deal with this, we eat. And, we eat well.
Aka, there are many spooky eats. Weβre talking sexy zucca aka pumpkin and tons of melted cheese with a little spice, and everything nice. We are also talking about visits to spine-tingling towns in Italy.
Whoever said that Italy doesnβt celebrate Halloween because of the Catholic Church is wrong. Where thereβs the church, there are witches.. or should I say cool spiritual women who resent the omnipresence of the male-dominated church?
Gender politics aside, I have something really special coming up this month, a visit to a town full of witches - yes in Italy, and just a stoneβs throw away from Rome.
Spaghetti stories
Itβs finally here - a new newsletter series!
Spaghetti Stories is here to grow the Slutti Spaghetti table. Sure, I love ranting here or on IG/Tiktok by myself. But, as we know, food is always better and more unforgettable when itβs shared with rad folks.
This new newsletter series is now sliding into your inboxes with fascinating spotlights on cool food people discussing all things both fun and a little serious, from secret Italian regions to castrated meat-balls to combatting food waste in Rome. It is mostly written articles, with a few podcast-style interviews to be thrown in the mix.
Two newsletters are already live if you havenβt read them already. Below is the most recent interview, with a truly stellar and underrated Italian chef.
If you think youβre a cool food person with a cool conversation to sizzle up - donβt hesitate to reach out. I always love to chat.
SLUTTIEST EATS
I know youβre here for those good little slutti food secrets, and frankly, I have not shared one sluttiest eats newsletter in September. How dare I?
So here is my little bonus - a few of the best foods Iβve been eating and keeping all to myself so far this Fall.
