Weekend Things π Chapter 10
Positano's dirty little secrets (from 20 summers + 2 weekends of visiting)
Welcome to Weekend Things - a little round-up of slutti dishes, places, tunes, and surprises from the weekend to help get you through your Monday slump. Itβs an easy read, with bits to bookmark, inspire, or just make you giggle.
This newsletter is short and sweet - just how we prefer our Mondays.
My weekend was spent mostly in Positano - you might be thinking, oh ok casualβ¦ Or, on the contrary - why? Such a tourist trap, so many better places in Italy to go signorinaβ¦
Positano gets a bad rap⦠on justified grounds. But, there are 3 reasons to visit or better yet 3 ways to properly visit Positano:
The first - visiting the summer is a bad idea. April/May or mid-September/October is the best bet. If you love to swim, late September is when the sea is still warm from the summer and all the tourist crowds have returned to their normal lives.
The second - you canβt visit for two seconds. You wonβt get the beauty or feel the mysticism that still exists in this petite town that dances along the coastline. Stay higher up, not by the port, so you can soak in beautiful views every day, rather than elbow-wrestle your way through the cruise crowds below.
The third - you have to stay at Hotel Poseidon. I grew up going to this hotel, itβs like a second home to me (more to come here). But, the team doesnβt need you to visit for 25+ years to treat you like family. They make everyone feel the love, which is much deserved after risking your life traveling along those gargantuan and gorgeous cliffs cascading the illustrious Meditterean sea.
NOW FOR THE JUICINESS OF THIS WEEKEND FEATURING SOME OF POSITANOβS SLUTTIEST SECRETS!
