the almost summer newsletter (2024)
first access to new merch, new slutti summer secrets, and more shenanigans
Is this a June newsletter? An early summer newsletter? No clue. What I do know is that I really appreciate your feedback on my survey, which told me people love a good monthly newsletter of all the sluttiest foods and updates.
Now, have I decided if this will be monthly? Not yet - I am kind of digging the slutti seasonal newsletter. An almost-summer newsletter is a little more fun than a full summer newsletter, isn't it? At least you’ll be sweating a little less while you’re reading this! (I hope)
This week I was kicked in the bum by a weird upper respiratory infection that left my voice sounding like a demon and my meals annoyingly healthy, though still delicious (shout out to the bf for cooking for me so I didn’t cough all over the food!!)
My blood content is all spremute (OJ), fagolini (green beans), and prosciutto e melone at this point. I can’t complain - I got my vitamins in a sexy Italian way.
Now, I am about revived and ready to give you all the GOOD NEWS and EATS to come. This also includes slutti secret Italian eats to keep you cool (hint: it’s not carbonara or lasagna, because no one wants to eat that when it’s 35c/ 95F degrees outside. )
But like a good friend I won’t judge you if you do eat it. Sometimes cravings happen.
MERCH!!!
My sweet subscribers - you have first access to my soft merch launch! It officially launches on the first day of summer (June 20th), but paid subscribers will receive a private link this Monday to get those goods before anyone else.
There will be hats to protect your pretty little face from the sun and SWAG. Get ready!
10% of proceeds for this launch will go to Mi Nutro La Vita/Fondazione Fiocchetto Lilla - an Italian-based organization dedicated to eating disorder awareness, a cause I am passionate about. While we obsess over Italian food, the number of Italians battling eating disorders continues to rise - from 650,569 reported cases in 2019 to 1.680.456 in 2023, with an estimated 3.5 million cases overall now. And, those are only the ones reported. Supporting an initiative like Mi Nutro La Vita allows us to help those in need find support and the recovery tools they need.
Slutti Spaghetti is about food freedom and loving food unapologetically. The reality of an eating disorder takes away this joy, a reality I have endured and many others around me. There is no greater joy than helping others restore their relationship with food, and get back to loving themselves and sitting down at the table with those they love peacefully again.
SPAGHETTI STORIES
Pardon the very much delay in this interview series. Am I the only one who feels as if they are moving through JELL-O these days? I digress…
Spaghetti Stories is a little fabulous spotlight on some very cool people in the food and bev (and beyond!) industry who are doing groovy things and thinking outside of the box. They will be a mix of audio and written (some only speak Italian and well I don’t have the power to BBC-level dub speech just yet…)
THIS MONTH you will receive your first interview, part of a special little series.
SPOILER: it’s from a special place close to my heart, and not too far from Rome - meaning you get some travel tips that will have you skipping the ordinary Tuscany route for something a little more spicy (and empty of tourists).
SLUTTIEST EATS
There’s a lot of eating happening this month and summer, between Italy AND New Jersey. Yes, I will be bringing some of the sluttiest secrets from my very hood, along with some new places.
And of course, there will be a lot of spaghetti alle vongole and my usual Italian beach bar shenanigans in between too… :)
NOW FOR SOME SLUTTI SECRETS!
3 SPECIAL PLACES I SWEAR BY FOR DELICIOUSNESS
and haven’t yet shared on social media (yes that secret!)
