Forget time traveling - letβs talk about tastebud traveling.
If I were to sum up the North New Jersey food scene in one word, itβs diversity. Seriously, you can have a real deal Cuban sandwich for lunch, then take a trip to Seoul for dinner to eat the best soondubu (Korean tofu soup) you can probably find in the States.
So, whenever people talk smack about New Jersey, theyβre fooling themselves. Itβs fine - we will keep our little cultural food mecca to ourselves.
Spending August where I grew up has been fantastic. I love North New Jersey. There will never be enough words to express my gratitude for this loud and overcrowded little place on Earth.
Also, I specify North New Jersey because itβs the area I know. I have slim knowledge of the rest of the state and admittedly am not very interested in exploring βPork Rollβ land at the moment.
Now, letβs dive straight into the sluttiest eats of August - a mix of plates from North New Jersey and NYC, as my childhood was always a dance between the two.
